J&M Displays, Inc. • Permits

A permit is required by any person or organization having a fireworks display. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives does not require this permit, but it is needed by J & M Displays to ensure the fireworks are being displayed with approval by the authority having jurisdiction.

Permits should be on official government letterhead (city, county, fire department, police, sheriff, etc.) and should include information such as the following:

the organization or individual sponsoring the display
the city, state, and county of the display
date of the display is to take place, and a rain date if applicable
time display is to take place
name of company or lead pyrotechnician firing the display
a signature of an authorized person to issue the permit

Many places will have their own permit forms for fireworks and those forms are acceptable.
